Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Principal Quality Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in El Segundo, CA.

Roles and Responsibilities: Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and special control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product. Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place. Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance test for products or materials acceptance. Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements. May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality. May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 years of Aerospace or Quality Assurance experience with a Bachelors Degree, 3 years with a Masters or 1 year with a PhD

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearence within a reasonable amount of time based on business needs

  • Knowledge of testing paints and coatings

  • Must have at least 3 years of experience working and auditing in Special Process and Process Controls environments in composites manufacturing

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationship at all levels

  • Knowledge of analyzing and interpreting testing laboratory and chemical analysis results

  • Must be able to work in-person/on-site

  • Must be able to work around hazardous chemicals

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledgeable with Northrop Grumman internal systems; Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Office and LIMS.

  • Experience blending and mixing paints and coatings to proper spraying consistencies

  • Ability to be certified for a half & full-face respirator

  • Interpreting receiving inspection requirements per customer specifications

  • Experience extracting metrics to track process health

  • Detail oriented and able to understand the big picture

  • Working knowledge and experience with Quality Management Systems (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001, etc.)

Salary Range: $88,700.00 - $133,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
